Abstract
Learning media has its own charm that can foster students interest and motivation to learn. The lack of variety of learning media can make students’ feel bored, unenthusiastic and inactive during the learning process. Teachers can take advantage of technology such as learning media. Currently there are various kinds of application for language learning media, one of which is Rosetta stone. This application contains various materials, each material presented consists of images, audio text and real time scenarios so that the material is easy to remember. Rosetta stone has advantages, namely the Voice Recognition and Dynamic Immersion features which function to compare user pronunciation with native speakers so that they can help train students’ pronunciation. Learning activities by utilizing applications will create an interesting learning atmosphere and foster students’ learning independence. This study aims to describe the activity of using the Rosetta stone application as a medium to improve the vocabulary mastery of eight grade students at MTS Tarbiyah Islamiyah Panipahan. This data sources of 20 students of class VIII-A. the data in this study obtained from observations, interviews, pre-test, and post-test.
