Abstract
This study aimed to enrich students’ vocabulary mastery in English lesson by using spelling bee game. The researcher have conducted research from August 6, 2021 to August 13, 2021. The subject of this research was the tenth grade of 33 students X MIA 2 Darul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School Tembung. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) of Stephen Kemmis and MC Taggarts model. There were four steps in each cycle such as planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data collected in this study collected of two kinds, namely descriptive (qualitatively) and numerical (quantitatively). The technique of collecting data consisted observation, test, interview and documentation. There are two kinds of test given by researcher: 1) Preliminary test, and 2) Post-test. The minimum passing grade in this school was 78. In preliminary test, total score was 2.126, students who got score 78 or more was 9 students (27,3%) with the mean 64,42. In post-test 1, the total score was 2,865, students who got score 78 or more was 28 students (84,84%) with the mean 82,25. In post-test 2, the total score was 2.420, students who got score or more 78 was 30 students (90,9%) with the mean 88,37. In addition, students’ responses have been good to the use of spelling bee game in the learning process. based on the observation sheet, students were very diciplined when entering class, Islamic, and also active. The reseracher have conclude that the application of the spelling bee game has been successful in enriching students’ vocabulary mastery.
