Abstract

The government's decision to stop the face-to-face learning process due to the covid-19 pandemic, one of the medias used in online learning is zoom meetings based on video conferencing to facilitate the learning process, but we know that because zoom meetings depend on the internet network there are obstacles inside it. The purpose of this study is to explained all feelings and experiences related to positive and negative experiences from the online learning process using zoom meetings, this study uses a qualitative approach and phenomenology with interview, observation, and documentation in the focus of research that sees participants from semester 6 majoring in English education at the Islamic State University of North Sumatra. The results of this study show that in the positive part, participants tell about in depth knowledge of technological developments due to learning to use zoom, besides that they also get to experiences a new vibes because they can learn anywhere at any time as long as there is an adequate internet network, then from a negative point of view, it cannot be denied that it is difficult understanding the material through online learning, lack of motivation, lack of self-preparation and also, mood swings and also changing ways of learning, to understand and interpret the two experiences this research also reveals the meaning of the experiences felt by participants.
