Abstract

This research is entitled The Role of PAI Teachers in Implementing Creative Character in the Independent Curriculum at MAN 1 Medan. This research is based on the implementation of the Independent Curriculum which is a new curriculum issued by the Indonesia government. Because the independent curriculum is set by the Ministry of Education and Culture and is used not only in schools, but also in madrasas. PAI teachers must have a role in developing students' creative attitudes through the implementation of an independent curriculum with various methods and learning models that are in accordance with teaching and learning activities in schools/madrasas. This study uses a descriptive qualitative or qualitative descriptive research method. This study uses descriptive data in the form of interviews, field notes, manuscripts, personal documents, and other supporting documents. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study revealed that the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in a gradual, slow and programmatic manner has been implemented in 2021 and MAN 1 has used the Independent Curriculum in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. MAN 1 groups students into 6 parts based on students' intelligence. During the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at MAN 1, the P5 P2RA program has been carried out 3 times with different themes. The role of PAI teachers in implementing Creative Character in the Independent Curriculum at MAN 1 Medan as educators, murabbis, mu'allim. as a motivator.
