Abstract
Listening difficulty is a significant problem for students in listening classes. Here students' difficulty while listening to English songs. This study aims to find how difficult it is for students to listen to western songs associated with the seven types of difficulties and the factors that underlie them. This research gets the data from the eighth grade in Al-Umm Smart Centre; this research was designed with a qualitative process using documentation and interview method. This research findings: 1. the first highest difficulty is found in the position errors in interpreting the message received, the second highest difficulty in the second position is found in the position that is The listener's failure to recognize, the third highest type is found in the position of listeners cannot control the speaking speed, the fourth highest type is found in the limited position vocabulary, the last highest type is found in the position that is the listener does not have the opportunity to ask the speaker to repeat. 2. From the factors of students' difficulties in listening to English in eighth grade, which is associated with 5 types of students' difficulties in listening to western songs, 2 types were found, namely the sixth and seventh types, which were found only in environmental factors. The results of this study indicate that students find it difficult to listen to western songs.
