Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out is the Mahir Hafalan Bahasa Inggris Aplication as a media of learning has a significant effect on the teaching the simple past tense at Mts Lab UINSU Medan. The total population was 118 students and the researcher took 60 students as the sample of this study. Therefore, the researcher devided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Experiment class apply Mahir Hafalan Bahasa Inggris Application in the learning process while the control class applies conventional. Data was collected using pre-test and post-test. The findings show that students who are taught Mahir Hafalan Bahasa Inggris Application scered higher than those who were taught conventionally. The results showed that the was a significant effect of the use of Mahir Hafalan Bahasa Inggris Application on teaching past tense to students as avidanced by the resultsof the analysis observed that is was higher than ttable (3.10 > 0.05) and df 58. This means that the alternative hypothesis (h) is accepted.
