Abstract

This interview study reports the results and analysis of how students learn English through online media at SMA 1 TanjungTiram. Since the pandemic in Indonesia, all education systems in Indonesia have changed, all activities are carried out online. This study aims to find out how students learn English through online media, what are the obstacles and find solutions to these obstacles. This study uses descriptive qualitative research, data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that students learn English through online media with a little complexity with various obstacles, but this can be overcome with the creativity of teachers and the school. This has been related to the theory used by the researcher in conducting this research. This study emphasizes that in learning English through online media students find several obstacles but can be overcome in various ways and solutions by the students themselves as well as teachers and the school.
