Abstract
Theiaims ofithisistudyiisitoidetermine theieffectiofiusing.information.gap activity onistudents' speaking skills in.second grade students at MTsPN 4iMedan. Thisistudyiusesiquantitativeiresearchimethodsiwithiai quasi-experimentaliidesign. Meanwhile, theiresearch design..uses a nonequivalenticontroligroupidesign. Thisi studyiuseditwoigroups, namely the experimentaligroup using information gap activity and the controligroup. Theisample inithisistudy wasi48 studentsiconsisting ofi24 students asitheiexperimentaligroupiand 24 students as the control group. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test. Theidataianalysisitechniqueiusedithe IndependentiSampleit-testibyiused ofiIBM SPSS version 28 for windows. Basedionitheiresultsiof the dataianalysis, iticanibeiconcluded thatithere are differences in the speaking skills of students who use the information gap activity whereitheimeaniscore post-test ofitheiexperimentaligroup using theiinformation gap activity was 75,00 higherithanitheicontroligroup was 45,33. Inaaddition, the resultsaof the t-test show that tobserved (10.894) > ttable (1.678) itimeansithatiH0iwas rejectediandiHaiwasiaccepted. Thus, iticanibeiconcludedithatithereiisiaasignificant effectaofausing theaInformation Gap Activity on students' speaking skills at MTsPN 4 Medan.
