Abstract

This study aims to apply handicrafts from used materials in the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years at RA AL-ARIF Besitang. The researcher has a problem formulation, namely: analyzing how the application of crafts from used materials in the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years at RA AL-ARIF Besitang. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research, which is research that describes an object, phenomenon or social setting that will be written in narrative writing. The results of this study reveal the findings: how is the application of handicrafts from used materials in the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years at RA AL-ARIF Besitang. There are some children who, based on aspects of their social- emotional development, are developing well, but there are still children who tend to be quiet or have difficulty interacting with their friends. After the researchers conducted several studies at RA AL-ARIF, the researchers concluded that all children's social development had begun to develop. Efforts that the teacher does to develop children's social emotional development through handicraft activities from used materials provides opportunities for children to practice their interactions with their friends, so that they can work together with their group mates. The inhibiting factors for children's social emotional development are differences in children's character and behavior. And the supporting factors are the role of the environment and parents such as support, attention, enthusiasm of parents towards children and all the activities that children do.
