Abstract
The purpose of this research focuses on analysis the teacher strategies English speaking at SMA N 2 Sei Kanan Labuhanbatu Selatan. This research wants to find out strategies used the teacher in the SMA N 2 Sei Kanan Labuhanbatu Selatan. This research to find out the kinds of strategies that is used by the teacher role play is a strategies that involves the role of student in the teaching English speaking. Role play help the teacher to know fluency, accuracy and grammar pronountation. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. data collection observation and documentation which are used in this research are documentation and interviews. This research found that there are four strategies used by the teacher at SMA N 2 Sei Kanan. The purposes the teacher used strategies role play, giving motivation, drilling, group discussion. So that students are more active in learning English speaking and students prefer to study group discussions and drilling and role playing while studying.
