Abstract
The title of this study was "Improving Students' Vocabulary Mastery at MTs Ubudiyah Pangkalan Brandan Using Visual Media." There were three problem statements in all. (1) How effective was the use of visual media in strengthening the vocabulary of learners at MTs Ubudiyah Pangkalan Brandan? (2) How did Visual Media help students at MTs Ubudiyah Pangkalan Brandan increase their vocabulary? (3) Does using visual media boost a student's vocabulary? The goal of this study was to see if visual media of VII might help learners increase their vocabulary at MTs Ubudiyah Pangkalan Brandan. This was a classroom action research project. There were two cycles in all. There were four steps to the study technique in each cycle. They were preparing, acting, watching, and reflecting on their actions. The participants in the study were 43 seventh-grade students at MTs Ubudiyah Pangkalan Brandan. The test, which was studied quantitatively, and the observation sheet, which was analyzed qualitatively, were the instruments of this study. After using visual media, the learners' vocabulary improved significantly, according to the findings of the study. The pupils' mean ability test score was 6.33, but it improved to 6.80 in the first cycle and 7.51 in the second cycle, proving this point. It means that the learners' vocabulary has improved from the first to the second cycle. Students' vocabulary might be improved by using visual media.
