Abstract

This research was aimed to figure out the perception of The English teacher and parents on the removal of the English subject in elementary school. This research was conducted from 25 September until 18 October 2021. It was qualitative research (case study). The data gathered by Semi-structured interview. The data was analyzed by thematic analysis. The result of this research was both The English teacher and parents disagree and disappointed with the regulation as well, because they worried about student’s education, They thought that students will face some difficulties. Moreover elementary students are living in tourism place and they are young learners that have good memory to remember and memorize vocabularies. Then parents have limitation from economic and English subject knowledge that make school is the only one hope by parents for their children to learn English. Finally in this case almost parents did not get any information about regulation because the school parties just deliver it in the class to the students, the school should convey it trough a meeting with parents, because it is the right of parents to know thing related to education in accordance with law no 47 article 13.
