Abstract

This study aims to determine students' reading comprehension strategies in English texts. The subjects of this study were students of class X SMA Al-Ulum Tuasan. This research was conducted using qualitative research. The data used in this study are the results of observation sheets, and interview sheets. The results of this study indicate that there are 15 students who have strategies in understanding reading. From the results of interviews and observations, there are 7 strategies in reading comprehension one of them Reading preparation, Reading the Title, Reading paragraphs, summarizing, Looking for important sentences, Making conclusion, Finding the main idea.
