Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out empirically the evidence on the effect of anecdotal texts on students' vocabulary mastery in class Vll MTS PERTI Hajoran. This research is experimental research. The population in this study were all students of class VII MTS PERTI HAJORAN. The sample of this study was taken from 21 students of the experimental group (class VII-A) and 20 students of the control group (grade VII-C). The data collection instrument was in the form of tests (pre-test and post-test). The results show that teaching vocabulary using text anecdotes is more effective than without using text anecdotes. The post-test results from anecdotal texts, the average score of students was 77.85 with 21 students and the post-test results without using text anecdotes, the average score of students was 72.25 with 20 students proven that the text anecdotes had a positive influence.
