Abstract

Strategy can be said as a way or method in learning or learning to achieve something that you want to achieve. all individuals certainly have their own way to achieve certain goals, especially for students who are still junior high school, of course the teacher has a strategy in teaching, now it’s different here the researcher explores how the right and right strategies can be used by students when studying, especially learning pronunciation. so this research is to find out what strategies students use in learning pronunciation and how they can understand this method. Researchers use phenomenological qualitative methods where researchers design research to conduct interviews with research subjects and focus on answers from subjects to obtain study results to seek, understand, and describe the universal essence of a phenomenon. The participants of this study were one student as an information key, 3 students as a support informant, and one English teacher at MTSs Istiqomah Sri Gunting Mencirim. To find out student’s strategies in learning pronunciation. The results of this study are student’s when learning pronunciation, student have preparation, student read vocabulary list book, student use dictionary, student have special book to write vocabulary and how to read them, make short conversation, and practiceto improve their pronunciation skills, and in remembering meanings and remembering how to pronounce properly and correctly. It is hoped that this research can help students to find out the appropriate strategies used in learning to improve good pronunciation, and help teachers to know better that there are various kinds of strategies used by students in learning pronunciation, as well as being an additional reference to add insight and information which has been given.
