Abstract
This thesis is entitled "The Role of Teachers In Developing Students’ Reading Comprehension Through The Implementation of Webtoon Application". In learning, the role of teachers is very important to improve students' learning abilities and understanding. This research discusses the role of teachers as facilitators and mediators. This research aims to determine how the role of teachers as facilitators and mediators in the application of webtoon applications to develop students' reading comprehension. This research uses a qualitative case study approach. The methodology used includes semi-participant observation, semistructured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study is data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of this research are teachers as facilitators and mediators, by using interesting learning media such as the application of webtoon applications, especially in reading learning, can increase students' interest in reading. This is done by facilitating learning using technology and other means such as preparing materials, laptops, infocus, internet and involving students in choosing materials or reading texts that are appropriate for their age and genre. This research concludes that the use of webtoon has succeeded in increasing students' interest in reading. Students become more interested and motivated to learn more about what they read with increased interest. Ultimately, this increases their ability to understand what they read. Students become better able to understand webtoon texts, which results in better learning.enjoyable for students.
