Abstract
This research aims to find out the impact of English Self-Learning in the online classes in the eighth grade of MTSN 2 Labuhan Batu Selatan. In this study, fifteen students were selected because they are considered to have experience watching English videos on YouTube and can provide sufficient information to answer research questions based on the theory of Lai and Gu. This research is tried to find the impact of MTsN 2 Sungai Kanan students using YouTube for their English learning videos and self-learning English through YouTube improve their ability to learn English. This research used qualitative method. The respondent of this research is students class VIII that consist 15 students. The data collected from observation and questionnaires. The results of this research indicate that the influence of learning English itself through YouTube in learning English at MTsN 2 Labuhan Batu Selatan, turns out to have a significant influence. Therefore, YouTube is a resource that students use in the process of learning English outside the classroom.
