Abstract

Reading is already and will continue to be an important part of every day life. Proficiencyin Reading is one of a significant problem in schools today. This research discussed about the effect of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition CIRC) technique on students’ ability of reading comprehension at MAN KUTACANE Aceh Tenggara. The aims of this research are: To find out the students’ ability in reading comprehension on students’ reading comprehension in anecdote text. by using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) tecnique at MAN KUTACANE Aceh Tenggara. To find out the students’ ability in reading comprehension on students’ reading comprehension in anecdote text. without using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) tecnique at MAN KUTACANE Aceh Tenggara.To know the students’ effect on students’ reading comprehension in anecdote text. by using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition(CIRC) technique atMAN KUTCANE Aceh Tenggara. The kind of this research is quantitative research with experimental method. The population of this research was the XI grade of MAN KUTACANE Aceh Tenggara. . The total of population were four classes. Then, the sample of the research was 2 classes, experiment class (XI IPA-1) and control class (XI IPA-2). To collect the data, I used test for measuring students’ ability in reading comprehension anecdote text. To analysis the data, I used t-test. Based on the result of the research, I found that the result of experimental class was higher than control class (74,125>54,125), and the score of tcount was bigger than ttable (12,05>1,684). It means that the hypothesis alternative (Ha) was accepted. It was concluded that there was significant effect of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition CIRC) technique on students’ ability of reading comprehension at MAN KUTACANE Aceh Tenggara.
