Abstract

Speaking is a part of communication for anyone learning English as a second language. This research aims to examine the process of creating video content in speaking classroom at English club extracurricular activities. The research employs descriptive qualitative approach by case study method which involves direct observation, interviews and document analysis. The subjects of this study are students who join the English club totally 9 (nine) students. The process of creating video content starts from planning, script creation, shooting and video editing. The results indicate that creating video content increases students' motivation and speaking skills. Apart from that, this activity also provides practical experience in using technology and team work. The conclusion in this research is that creating video content can be an effective method in teaching English speaking skills in the classroom speaking, especially in extracurricular contexts.
