Abstract

Learning is a process of student interaction with educators and learning resources in a learning area in the context of providing assistance by educators so that a process can occur in acquiring knowledge, knowledge, mastery of skills, changing character and forming attitudes and self-confidence in students. Meanwhile, Aqidah Akhlak is a sub-subject at the basic education level that discusses the teachings of the Islamic religion which provides guidance to students so they understand, live up to, believe in the truth of Islamic teachings, and are willing to practice them in everyday life. In fostering Islamic character in students, it is necessary to have supporting activities as well as exemplary and habituation carried out in schools. This research is a descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection is done by observation, interviews and documentation. The research data comes from interviews with Aqidah Akhlak subject teachers, WKM and students, then supported by documents related to the success of Aqidah Akhlak learning in fostering Islamic character at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Medan. Data analysis techniques by presenting data, drawing conclusions and techniques for checking the validity of data by testing credibility (internal validity), transferability (external validity), dependability (reliability), and confirmability (objectivity). The results showed that the analysis of the success of learning Aqidah Akhlak at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Medan was very good. Learning activities are carried out with an introduction, core and closing. The method used in learning is lecture, discussion and question and answer. The assessment is carried out by means of written and oral tests. Implementation of material using exemplary and supported by extracurricular activities at madrasas. The Islamic character achieved is in accordance with the vision and mission of the madrasa, namely students who have good morals
