Abstract
The main objective of this research is to describe and analyze the effect of metacognition and mathematical disposition on students’ mathematical problem saolving abilities either partially or simultaneously. The research method used is expost facto. The population of this study were all students of class VIII MTs Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hinai Kiri, totaling 65 students from class VIII1 with a total of 32 students and VIII2 with a total of 33 students. The sample in this study was a saturated sample, which means that all population were sampled because the population was less than 100. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and tests. Technical data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Partially metacognition influences the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students of MTs Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hinai Kiri as shown by the tcount value which is greater than ttable (4.097 > 1.998); (2) Partially, mathematical disposition has an effect on the mathematical problemsolving abilities of class VIII students of MTs Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hinai Kiri, as indicated by the tcount value which is greater than ttable (2.597 > 1.998); (3) Metacognition and Mathematical Disposition have a joint effect on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students of MTs Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hinai Kiri as shown by the Fcount value which is greater than Ftable (56.266 > 3.14)
