Abstract

Nowadays, technology has an impact on daily life routines. Education also got an effect. In English class, many products have been released to help teachers and students during class meetings. The outcome could be called Duolingo, Memrise Cake, etc. this thesis researcher focuses on using Cake App, especially in vocabulary class. The aim of this study is to identify students’ perceptions of the use of cake applications. The method of this research was qualitative. The participants in this research were five students in the eighth grade of SMP Al-Ulum. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted a questionnaire and interviewed the students. To analyze the data, the researcher used four significant phases of data analysis called data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The result found students give positive perception to Cake Application. In their perceptions, Cake is helpful application, Cake is useful application, Cake is easy to use, Cake has interesting features and Cake is free application. Meanwhile, students also give negative perception to Cake Application. The students give perception that cake is challenging application. The challenging could be see at inputing voice and have hard limit heart or streaks.
