Abstract

This research is motivated by the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 35 Medan. Ensuring the quality of Islamic education is one of the mandatory duties of the school principal in improving the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 35 Medan. This research was conducted to look at the leadership of the principal in improving the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 35 Medan. The research method in this study uses descriptive qualitative research where later the researcher will describe the principal's leadership in improving the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 35 Medan. There were 3 participants in this study, namely principals, teachers, and students at SMPN 35 Medan. The results of the study obtained information that 1) The principal of SMPN 35 Medan carried out a good management process starting from the process of supervision, planning and implementation in improving the quality of Islamic education. 2) The principal of SMPN 35 Medan also often provides motivation to teachers and students with the aim that they can improve competence so that the goals of improving the quality of Islamic education can be achieved. 3) The principal of SMPN 35 Medan also has a good example of involving the community in all activities at school with the aim that the community can provide input and take part in improving the quality of Islamic education in SMPN 35 Medan. In conclusion, the leadership of the school principal in improving the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 35 Medan has been going well without any obstacles because the principal of SMPN 35 Medan has carried out all his duties using an organized management system.
