Abstract

The teacher's example has a very big influence on the growth and development of the student's character. Because humans are creatures who like to imitate, including students imitating the teacher's personal in the process of developing their character. Especially the class teacher shows a pretty good example. By providing a good example can support the development of student character. The problems that must be solved are how the character of the students, the teacher's role model, the role of the class teacher's role in developing the student's character, the supporting factors in developing the student's character, the inhibiting factor in developing the student's character at SDN NO 100680 Paolan. The aim of this research is to answer all the problems above. This type of research is a qualitative research with data collection techniques, direct observation, in-depth interviews and document studies. The key informants are fourth grade teachers. Other informants were principals, staff, teachers and students. The character of students in general is good, already has a sense of love for Allah SWT, honest, helpful, obedient in carrying out their duties and respect for teachers. The teacher must first form a noble personality in himself. The role of exemplary class teachers is very influential in developing student character, when teaching teachers must be good at maintaining attitudes. Supporting factors in developing student character are from family, environment and school as well as cooperation between schools and parents. The inhibiting factor in developing student character is from families who pay less attention to the attitudes and behavior of their children and also from playmates, the community environment, and today's technology.
