Abstract
The researcher that has been conducted entitled "The Effect of Duolingo Application in Students Speaking Ability at Mts Fajrul Iman" By using a true experimental quantitative research method, namely by selecting a random sample. The purpose of this study was to obtain tangible evidence about the effect of using the Duolingo application on students' speaking ability. The population taken from this study were students of MTs Fajrul Iman Patumbak Deli Serdang. The sample consisted of 30 people who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. Each group has 15 students where the experimental group will be treated using the Duolingo application while the control group will be treated using different media. The instrument used was a conversational test questionnaire for pre-test and post-test. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 22 with t-test formula. Based on the results of statistical calculations with a significant level of 5%, that t0 = 2.850 is higher than tt = 1.701. The results of this study have shown that the Duolingo application has a positive effect on the speaking ability of students at Mts Fajrul iman, Deli Serdang in the 2022/2023 academic year.
