Abstract

This research was aimed to find out the student's perception on the use of social media for learning English. The subject of this research was first grade students at MAS Miftahussalam in 2022 academic year. This research methodology of this study was conducted by using qualitative research. The data used in this research such as; interview sheet and photography evidence. The researcher did interview for 10 students at first grade in MAS Miftahussalam. The researcher gives nineteen questions too in interview session to students that still related to students‘ perspectives on the use of social media for learning. The result of this research showed that almost all students have positive perspectives on the use of social media in learning English. Most of the student state that social media can increase their listening skill, reading skill, writing skill, and speaking skill. In addition, social media can increase pronoun, knowing different accent, can increase students‘ vocabulary, student can express his writing, can be the inspiration for writing, can be tool to communicate, added knowledge and social media can facilitated student to write.
