Abstract

This study focuses on the Translation Errors made by senior high school student when translating short story. The short story gave by researcher for student at Madrasah Aliyah Cipta Batubara translating the short story. The research method used in conducting this research is qualitative with content analysis as the research design. It is also known as the document analysis method. It is intended the readers will be able to learn about the types of errors that occur when translating text. This research discovered that there are eight the kind of errors that student made when translating short story, the error based on the theory from Bagheri and Nazari’s error classify, the types o errors is error ommision, addition, substitution, permutation, nature, frequency, effect and detection. The last reader would find the solution for reduce an errors when translating text, they will avoid making the same errors and enhance their translation skils.
