Abstract

One of the indicators to assess how the use of the puskesmas as a health service center is to see how many or not the number of female students visits to the health service. The increasing registration at the Islamic boarding school does not rule out the possibility of increasing the number of female students visiting for treatment at health services. In the last three years the utilization of health services from 2019 to 2021 has increased by 20%, however, there are not a few female students who do not come to health services when they are sick for certain reasons. The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of health services for female students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The type of research used is quantitative analytic survey with a cross sectional research design. The population size is 855 female students, data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 86 respondents. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results of this study show a significant relationship between knowledge (p value 0.018), availability of health workers (p value 0.138), availability of facilities (p value 0.190), perception of illness (p value 0.012). The conclusion from the research results is that there is a relationship between knowledge, availability of facilities, perceptions of illness and not the relationship between utilization and the availability of health workers.
