Abstract

Character education in schools is an effort made to educate, shape and build humans into better individuals (behlakul Karimah) and apply religious values. For this reason, a character education management is needed that can improve the quality, process, results and issue outputs that have good character in accordance with the competence of education graduates and the school's vision and mission. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with a single holistic case study. The process of data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. In general, this research is intended to find out how the implementation of Character Education Management in SMP AlWashliyah 1 Medan, especially in the process of planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. The findings of this study indicate that the process of planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating has been carried out well at the AlWashliyah 1 Medan Junior High School. The planning process is carried out at the beginning of the year by holding a joint meeting between educators and education staff. The organization is carried out by dividing the tasks and responsibilities that are borne by each school community whose division starts from the principal, pks, homeroom teachers, class teachers and other staff. The implementation of character education is carried out by applying it through daily, monthly, and yearly activities as well as incorporating character education values into the lesson plans and syllabus. Finally, the evaluation process is carried out in general by the school at the end of the year by holding a joint meeting to re-check whether the program has been running well or not.
