Abstract

This research was intended to find out the effect of Pre reading Plan (PREP) Strategy on the students’ reading comprehension at grade VIII at MTs Al- Jam’iyatul Washliyah Tembung. The population of this research were the class VII, VIII, IX. The samples of this research were taken from 40 students of experimental group (class VIII-4) and 40 students of control group (class VIII-3). The instrument for collecting data were multiple choice test. In the finding, researcher analyzing by t-test. After analyzing the data, the researcher got; (1) The students’ achievement in reading comprehension by got the mean 89.625 and standard deviation was 5.70509 (2) The students’ achievement in reading comprehension by using the Conventional method approach got the mean 77,5 and standard deviation was 11,767 The value of tobserved was higher thanttable.It means that there was significant effect of Pre Readng (PREP) strategy on the students’ achievement in reading comprehension.
