Abstract

This research aims to determine the condition of educational facilities and infrastructure, the management of educational facilities and infrastructure, as well as what supporting and inhibiting factors exist in implementing existing facilities and infrastructure at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Deli Serdang. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and observations supported by data and documentation such as photos of madrasa facilities and infrastructure. The research subjects are the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa for facilities and infrastructure and curriculum as well as administrative staff at MTsN 2 Deli Serdang. Data analysis techniques using data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data validity techniques with research expansion, increased persistence, and triangulation. The results of this research show that (1) The condition of the existing facilities and infrastructure is still inadequate because they are still not in accordance with the standards of Mts facilities and infrastructure. (2) Management of facilities and infrastructure has been carried out in accordance with procedures, namely planning procurement, distribution, inventory, maintenance, storage and disposal of facilities and infrastructure in accordance with needs. (3) Supporting factors in the management of facilities and infrastructure as well as assistance from the government and school committees in the procurement and maintenance of educational facilities. The inhibiting factor is the presence of natural factors such as erratic weather resulting in facilities and infrastructure being quickly damaged. The lack of cooperation and responsibility of the school community in maintaining school facilities and the use of educational facilities that have been used for a long period of time also result in these facilities being damaged.
