Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the psychosocial ergonomic aspects of office workers at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Medan City. The background of this research is the importance of occupational health and safety in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 8 concerning decent work and economic growth. Based on an initial survey, it was found that BPBD Medan City workers are exposed to various psychosocial hazards due to high job demands, suboptimal work organization, poor interpersonal relationships, and non-ergonomic working conditions. This study employs bivariate analysis to examine the relationship between various job factors and the psychosocial ergonomic aspects of BPBD Medan City workers. The results indicate that job demands, interpersonal relationships, and health and well-being significantly influence psychosocial ergonomic aspects, while work organization, values, and offensive behavior do not show significant influence. In conclusion, to improve workers' health and well-being, it is crucial for BPBD Medan City to consider fair job distribution, involve workers in decision-making processes, and maintain good working relationships. Suggestions for future researchers include conducting more in-depth statistical analyses to strengthen these findings.
