Abstract

Work posture is a determining point in analyzing the effectiveness of a job. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are disorders of the musculoskeletal system that result in symptoms such as pain due to damage to the nerves and blood vessels in various locations of the body such as the neck, shoulders, wrists, hips. , knees, and heels. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work posture and individual factors (age, years of service, exercise habits) with (MSDs) in Binjai-Langsa Section II toll road construction project workers. This research is a quantitative research that is analytic in nature with a cross sectional study approach (cross sectional) with a questionnaire method. The location of this research was carried out in the Bnjai-Langsa toll road section II construction project, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency. This research was conducted from March to October 2022. The total population in this research area was 200 workers, the sampling technique was carried out by total sampling, namely 133 respondents. The results showed that the relationship between work posture and complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) with (P Value = 0.001) and Exp value (B) of 13,033 (95% Cl = 2,915 – 58,261) and there is a relationship between age and complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) ) with a value (P Value = 0.013) and an Exp value (B) of 4,345 (95% Cl = 1,356 – 13,918) for workers in the Binjai-Langsa toll road construction project. To reduce MSDS risk, it is better for the Project Holder to conduct a General Check Up for project employees to prevent Musculoskeletal Disorders from occurring, from the results of the General Check up the Project Holder can review employees to be able to prevent Musculoskeletal occurrences by giving employees leave.
