Abstract

Breast cancer cases in developing countries have reached more than 580,000 cases each year 64% of the cases die from the disease. An estimated 10 out of 100,000 Indonesians have breast cancer and 70% of patients check themselves at an advanced stage. The causative factor is that sufferers lack understanding about breast cancer and the feeling of laziness and shame in exposing the breasts. Students who pursue education in the field of health in general have gained knowledge about SADAR so tend to form a positive attitude reflected in their behavior. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship of knowledge levels and attitudes of young women about early detection of breast cancer through SADAR (Self- Examination) in Sma Negeri 3 Range. The type of research used is quantitative research with sectional croos design, the sample is some state high school students range of 75 people. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling is done by means of data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires to assess the knowledge of attitudes and bullying of young women about early detection of breast cancer through SADAR. The data was analyzed with a chi-square test at a level of a = 0.05. The results showed that most young women had less categorical knowledge, and most young women had a less well-behaved attitude toward early detection of breast cancer through BEING aware. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the knowledge of attitudes and behaviors of adolescent girls about early detection of breast cancer through SADAR in Sma Negeri 3 Range.
