Abstract

The research that has been carried out is entitled "Educational Innovation in Efforts to Create Quality Schools at the Integrated Islamic Middle School Nurul Azmi Medan" which is motivated by the rapid development of the times and current technology which certainly has an impact on our world of education. Therefore, we need new innovations in the world of education to catch up while improving the quality of our education. This study aims to find out and analyze educational innovations in an effort to create quality schools at the Integrated Islamic Middle School Nurul Azmi Medan, because researchers see that there are educational innovation programs that are still few implemented in other educational institutions, especially at the junior high school education level. This study used a qualitative research type with a phenomenological approach (phenomenology) using three data collection techniques in this study, namely: direct observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis in this study took the form of making a detailed description of Educational Innovation in an Effort to Realize Quality Schools at the Integrated Islamic Middle School Nurul Azmi Medan. Participants who participated in this study were school principals, vice principals for curriculum, vice principals for student affairs, teachers, and students. Based on the results of this study, information was received that the Nurul Azmi Medan Integrated Islamic Middle School used the SAKTI platform/work program (Synergy, Active, Performance, Thorough, and Innovative) as one of the existing educational innovation programs. In addition, to shape the Islamic character of the students, they also held the MABIT (Faith Development and Taqwa Night) program and Halaqah Tahfiz Alquran to memorize the students. The conclusion of this study is that in implementing Educational Innovation in Efforts to Realize Quality Schools at the Integrated Islamic Middle School Nurul Azmi Medan the principal does not play a role alone, but rather involves others such as deputy principals, teachers, education staff, parents and students. To support the educational innovation program, several applications are needed to optimize the educational innovation program in order to obtain more accurate and faster data.
