Abstract

The aims of this research to describe the problems and to find out the dominant translation problems faced by 8th grade students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Sibuhuan Padang Lawas in academic year 2021/2022 in English text into Indonesian translation. In this research the researcher uses qualitative method. The population of the research at class 8th -2 in the academic year 2021/2022 that consist of 15 students’ in covid-19 pandemic. The researcher takes 15 students’ worksheet as a sample of research. To know the students’ problems the researcher finds the students’ error first. As a result based on the table, The highest number of students’ problems is vocabulary (69,5%). The second most problem done by the students is Grammar (21,5%). The third problem same with percentage incomplete sentence (3,67%) and addition (3,67%). The last problem is not transmitted (1,57%). In conclusion, the students’ dominant problem is not mastering vocabulary
