Abstract

Thispaperpresentstheresultsandanalysisofaninterviewstudyconducted with English teachers and senior high school students. This researchqualitative method and analyzed by using narrative inquiry. Participants of thisstudy were 7 students of SMA N 1 Gunung Tuleh, Kab. West Pasaman. Theinstrumentsusedtocollectthedatabyobservationandinterview,andthequestions that used by the researcher to interview the participants are 6. Theinterview intends to get concrete information about the causes of students' anxietyin English listening, namely; (1) The lack of interest in Learning English, (2) Thelackof supportfor StudentsFromBothInsideAndOutside ToLearnEnglish,and (3) The lack of students’ vocabulary. This findings have implications for students,so that the students are able to overcome their anxiety when listening to English,and for teachers to be able to help and give more attention to them in overcomingtheiranxiety.
