Abstract
So far there are still many people who think that debt is the only way to start a business, so assessing the nature of debt in other words this mindset will take the person live accustomed to debt without regard to the long-term impact due to interest. Therefore, the presence of the community without usury in the city of Medan has the aim to change information, educate, and change the mindset of the people to no longer owe and free from the trap of usury. This study aims to answer the question of how understanding of usury according to the community without usury and want to know what strategies are undertaken by the community without usury in educating the public to be free from the trap of usury. This studi is a qualitative study using field research methods on MTR community. Data sources used are primary data obtained from the interview and documentation process. The results of this study are: First, according to the MTR community, usury is taking additional assets that are injustice. Usury is an act that violates the commands of Allah SWT which at this time many people practice it. This usury practice is inseparable from the lack of public knowledgr about the law of usury transaction. Secondly, there are several strategies used to educate the public and promote anti-usury movemeents, namely programs that include consultation, assistance and recitation.
