Abstract

The school library is one type of library that has an institution. Where this institution is under the auspices of an educational institution as one of the facilities and means of supporting education. In Junior High School 23 also established a library that serves as an educational facility. The purpose of this research is to know about the classification and catalog of library materials, putting the junior library as standard school library. The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation and interviews to students and librarians. The result of this research is the state library of SMP Negeri 23 is not good with the condition of spatial arrangement, the determination of the number of the library materials or classification, the catalog card, and the library material itself.
