Abstract

MUHAMMAD AMIN: The Implementation of Supervision in Enhancing Learning Quality of Islamic Education at Al Azhar Junior High School. IAIN SU Post Graduate Program of Thesis in Medan. The research problem is how the implementation of the learning supervision done by supervisors, principals and LPIA are in improving the quality of learning Islamic education at Al Azhar Junior High School Medan. The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of instructional supervision conducted by the superintendent, principals and LPIA in enhancing learning quality of Islamic education at Al Azhar Junior High School Medan. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by using the main instrument through observation, interviews (interviews) and study documents. The subjects were inspectors from the Ministry of Religious PAI Medan, principals and internal supervisors formed by LPIA Foundation (Institute of Development Studies of Religion). While the object of this research is the implementation of instructional supervision conducted by the superintendent, principals and LPIA in improving learning quality at SMP Al Azhar PAI Medan. The research data that has been collected is then reduced, presented and concluded. Furthermore, its validity is tested by using the credibility (confidence), transferability (keteralihan), dependabilty (reliability) and confirmability (certainty). The findings in this study are: first, the implementation of learning supervision by supervisors, principals and LPIA in improving the quality of learning PAI are done in 4 steps: 1) pre supervision, 2) the implementation of supervision, 3) reports and 4) follow-up. Second, the principle of learning supervision which is used by supervisor are easy principles, whereas head of school and LPIA use guiding principles and foster an ongoing basis. Third, objects of supervised learning are the learning tools and its application.Fourth, techniques used in supervised learning is individual and group techniques. Fifth, the constraints faced by supervisors are time and transportation while for principals and LPIA are limited of time. Solutions that done by supervisors and LPIA are to do effective communication with principals and educators of PAI. While the solution which is conducted by principal use of the intervals between events such as rest time and informal learning hours.
