Abstract
The problem raised in this study is the low active participation of students in learning Fiqh with conventional methods. This study aims to determine the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) strategy in Fiqh subject at Usman Syarif Islamic Boarding School and its impact on students' understanding and involvement. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The results showed that the application of PBL was able to increase students' active involvement, develop critical, analytical, and collaborative thinking skills. Students are more interested and motivated in learning because they are faced with real problems that are relevant to the Fiqh material. Thus, PBL is proven effective in improving the quality of Fiqh learning at Usman Syarif Islamic Boarding School and can be applied as an alternative learning strategy that is more interactive and applicable.
