Abstract

This study is focused on how the station manager of Arrisalah Radio utilized his interpersonal communication skill when playing his role as both director and instructor to Arrisalah Radio Announcers. His functions and the challenges he found during the communication process are also discussed in this work. It is hoped that the more effective interpersonal communication occurring between the station manager and the announcers is, the better job performance the announcers will show at work. As this is a qualitative research, data was gathered by interviewing all employees who work under the parameter set by the station manager and observing the phenomenon happened at the Arrisalah radio. The conclusion was drawn through analysis process using inductive method. The results illuminated that the station manager of Arrisalah Radio has professionally performed his duties as both an instructor and a director.. Irrespective of some internal issues that appear - such as the lack of meeting intensity between the station manager and the announcers - in general the effective communication interpersonal by the station manager has literally triggered the announcers to a progress, where this has been proven by a better broadcasting quality shown by the announcers of Arrisalah radio.
