Abstract
The backround of the study is the lack of student‟s interest in reading and learning which begun from the lack of student‟s attention and using the education facilities at school and the region especially as the basic of this research that is library. The school library or region library. This research was done in 2015/ 2016 in Deli Serdang public library and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lubuk Pakam library. The location is at Jl. Mawar No. 55 Komplek pemerintahan Kabupaten Deli Serdang. In this case, the writer made the research by using the kind of qualitative research and grounded theory approach. Which the title is the contribution of Deli Serdang Public library in improving student‟s interest in reading and learning motivation of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lubuk Pakam students. The kind of the study is descriptive qualitative by using the technique of collecting data, ie using quistionaire, interview, observation and documentation. All the data is analized by using the model of Milles and Huberman theory bt 3 steps: data reduction, presentation, conclution and verification. In qualitative research, the validity of data obtained by the credibilities test, transferabilities test, dependabilities test, and confirmabilities test, the result of this study shows that Deli Serdang Publik library has a huge contribution in improving student‟s interest in reading and learning motivation of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lubuk Pakam students. The purpose of this study is to determine how big is the contribution of Deli Serdang public library in improving the students interest in reading and learning motivation of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lubuk Pakam students. Finally after dring the data process by using research procedure and data description, the writer found that the result shows that it is true that there is the contribution of Deli Serdang Public library in improving students interest in reading and learning motivation of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lubuk Pakam students.
