The ability to understand a large number and variety of words and to use them accurately and effectively is one of the chief assets which lead to success and happiness in the world, words play an important part in almost all our activities, In every sort of work in which we are engaged, the meaning of spoen and written plans , directions, information, and advice must ve understood quick. Vocabulary is commonly defined as “all the words known and used by particular person”. Knowing a word , however ,is not as simple as simply being able to recognize or use it. there are several aspects of word know knowledge which are used to measure word knowledge. Through correlation test which has been done ,it was found the correlation coefficient 0,698 were categorized in medium correlation,, it means that the correlation between mastering vocabulary and the students’ ability in writing narrative paragraph h was medium paragraph was medium correlation, conceptually , it could be explained that the students’ ability in writing narrative paragraph was still determinable or still had the correlation with the other factors.
