Abstract
The aim of this research is to shows the effectiveness of Estafet writing in teaching writing procedure text which was observed and analyzed from students of seven grade at SMP 6 Panyabungan. The method applied in this research was the quantitative method with the experimental research design. The population of this study was the students at seven grade SMP 6 Panyabungan. This study was conducted with two groups, namely experimental and control class. Then the researcher taught in the experimental class by using Estafet writing and control class taught by using lecturing method, practice, product learning. After treatment, the researcher gave the post-test to both of classes. The score of post-test were collected from written test. After the calculated by using SPSS V 22, tobserved (8.508) which is higher than ttable in the degree significance 5% (1.673). Furthermore, the test of hypotheses showed that sig 2 tailed (p) was 0.000\0 while alpha (α) was 0.05 (0.000< 0.05) meaning that H0 (Null Hypothesis) was rejected and Hα(Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted. It means that there was the effect of estafet writingg on students’ achievement in writing procedure text.
