Abstract
This study aimed to describe management practices in science laboratories MTs. Negeri 2 Medan in improving the quality of practice to learn science students at MTs. Negeri 2 Medan. In more detail, this study aims to determine Planning made the head of the laboratory, organizing resources, mobilisation and forms of control (supervision) done in improving the quality of practice students learn science. This type of research used in this study is a qualitative method. The collection of research data conducted by using observation (participant observation), interviews (in-depth interviews) and assessment document (document study), while the steps taken in analyzing the data that is the way to generate data, attribute data, reduce, presentation of and then to conclude. Meanwhile, to achieve the reliability of the research data that has been collected, the next testing the validity of the data include: confidence credibility, tranferability,defendability, and certainty (comfirmability). Research findings in the field shows that the implementation of management, as part of the implementation of the standards of laboratory management, quality improvement practices to learn science students at MTs. Negeri 2 Medan are: 1) Planning conducted Head of. lab optimized implementation in practical activities, the development of quality science teachers, decide which aspects are planned in this regard is the increase in program support activities, involvement of teachers, the latter is the target of the realization of the quality / achievement; 2) Organizing in improving the quality of practice to learn science students at MTs. Negeri 2 Medan, conducted by the head of the lab, in coordination with the headmaster, Head of the curriculum in collaboration with teachers of science subjects which in practice is to maximize cooperation in improving the quality of students' learning practices IPA. ; 3) mobilizing Improved quality of practice to learn science Students at MTs. Negeri 2 Medan performed by the head of the lab. madrasah and also his staff as well as the teaching is in order to motivate and provide guidance to students .; 4) Control is done by the head of the lab. madrasah form of control over the process of practical activities, including surveillance aimed at finding weaknesses, obstacles, and deviation from the practical activities in the laboratory.
