Abstract
The aim of this research is to shows the effectiveness VAK learning model in teaching writing recount text which was observed and analyzed from students of eight grade at MTs Al-Washliyah Medan Krio. The method applied in this research was the quantitative method with the experimental research design. The population of this study was the students at eight grade of MTs Al-Washliyah Medan Krio. This study was conducted with two groups, namely experimental and control class. Then the researcher taught in the experimental class by using VAK learning model and control class taught by using direct learning model. After treatment, the researcher gave the post-test to both of classes. The score of post-test were collected from written test. After the calculated by using t-test formula, tcount value was 3,95 and ttable was 2,204. In this research, the calculation of the scores by using t-test with the degree freedom (df) = 38 at the level of significance 0.05; that the critical value is 2,024. The result of calculating the t-test shows that tcount is higher than ttable.. It shows that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. So, it means that there is significant effect of VAK learning model on students’ achievements in writing recount text.
