Abstract
Inquiry-based learning strategy is a method that encourages students to think critically and analytically by finding answers to problems independently. The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the implementation of inquiry learning in Islamic religious education learning. This research uses qualitative writing methods, data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews and documentation, data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study reveal that inquiry-based learning is a method that allows students to actively engage in the learning process by asking questions, conducting investigations, and finding their own answers. It encourages students to think critically and analytically. The application of the inquiry method involves several steps, including orientation, formulating a problem, formulating a hypothesis, collecting data, testing the hypothesis, and formulating a conclusion. Each step is designed to actively engage students and encourage them to think scientifically. This method has many advantages, such as balanced cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development, as well as the ability to cater to students' various learning styles. It also supports students with diverse learning abilities. However, there are also disadvantages, such as difficulties in controlling learning activities, challenges in lesson planning, and the time required for implementation that may affect its effectiveness
