Abstract
Cow dung waste and sugar cane bagasse can be used as raw materials for making biogas. Cow dung waste contains methane-forming bacteria, while sugarcane bagasse contains 40 - 50% cellulose fiber which comes from plants with the main components being lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of fermentation time on biogas production from a mixture of sugarcane bagasse and cow dung waste. This research tested the biogas production produced, namely: pH value, temperature, methane content, flame duration and flame color with 2 treatments: (1) 100% cow dung waste, (2) 50% cow dung waste + dregs sugarcane 50%. The results of the research show that the effect of fermentation time on biogas production from a mixture of bagasse and cow dung waste has optimal results obtained from KS samples containing 63% methane ( ), pH value 6 - 7, temperature 28C - 30C, flame duration 41 seconds and flame color is reddish yellow.
