Abstract

Brake linings made from asbestos are widely used in motor vehicles, resulting in increased air pollution and can cause respiratory diseases such as lung cancer, therefore it is necessary to develop brake linings that are more environmentally friendly, namely by making non-asbestos brake linings. When making non-asbestos brake linings, testing is carried out first with the aim of finding out whether the brake linings can be used. Non-asbestos brake linings are tested including density testing, hardness testing (Rocwel), bending testing (Curve), and wear testing (Ogishi).
